A shabby, rather dirty hotel. Floors unswept, rooms untended and very poor service. Shared toilet and bathroom facilities, and windows that would not open. Very steep stairways also make access difficult for children or elderly people. We do not recommend a stay there!

The Hotel is really situated in a good place, but the room and breakfast are were little bit poor. The bathroom in the 3 bed-room was not so well applied, the ventillator was very noisy and the no light was in the shower. I'm afraid that the bed clothing was not clean, or at least not in a good condition. It was weary and oldie.

Because of a dinnerparty that was going to last 'till late, I needed a place to crash in Amsterdam and the bedroom in Hotel Kap was just that. Great location (not just for drinks in De Pijp but for the city as a whole) and a decent bed for a good price. Don't expect more: it's basic. Toilet down the hall is clean but they use a very penetrantly smelling cleaning solution.

+ good location -easy walking distance to the museum district and the city center, quiet street, decent breakfast, staff is ok- We do travel a lot but this was definitely the dirtiest and shabbiest room we have ever been to. Mattress and beds were soft and poor quality and sheets were ripped. There was no hot water and soap, the drains very noisy. There was mold in and around the shower area walls and tiles. Curtains and floors were very dirty and dusty, walls stained and "cracked". All in all, very depressing place to wake up in such an amazing city.

Pros: The hotel was located on a nice quiet street. the gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful, and the breakfast in the morning had a wide variety of food.
Cons: The room was a little small, but if you're just staying for a night or two, it's okay. i was only in there to sleep, anyways.

Pros: The lady staff member was really friendy and made a great difference to staying in a new city. the staff were very efficient and helpful.
Cons: The room was tiny. both the shower and the toilets were out in the corridor, and fine if you're paying hostel prices, but really inappropriate for ordinary hotel prices. could hear other guests preventing my sleep.

Pros: The hotel was really warm and cozy, and the continental breakfast was excellent. would definatly stay at this hotel again.
Cons: The only negative thing was the location of the hotel from the centre of town, it wasn't so bad during the day, but after going out for a meal and drinks in town at night it was bit of a trek back to the hotel.

Pros: Staff is very helpful and friendly. room is very clean.
Cons: In my room i could hear a horrible noise every time when someone was flushing the toilet. it doesn't make much sense during the day, but is annoying overnight.
