Marnix Hotel City Centre アムステルダム    

We were 10 French in a room 6m ² on bunk beds. People who slept on the bottom could not sit still. We had no place. The price is too expensive for the service they had. We had friends in the city center at the central station in an apartment for 10 at a price much lower for a superb performance ... Stunned 5% payable locally. I expected better and am disappointed myself have made​​.

Location of the hotel was perfect for us. No more than about 15 mins walk from anywhere we needed to get to. Rooms are pretty small and basic, TV didn't work either but for a cheap break it was adequate.

my son stayed here with his friends for 3 nights. When checking out he was asked for his passport, this was then locked in a drawer and they were made to pay an extra £40 for late checkout. They had not been told if this, if they refused to pay the receptionist said he would call the police !!!!!!

Pros: We were the only two in the 6 bed room
Cons: Thought we booked a small room not a hostel room; shower was broken- water did not drain and a man left his underwear in it. very narrow multiple flights of stairs to enter main floor and up to room.

Pros: A four star one star, i read a lot of bad reviews but for the price i booked anyway (i was super late in booking a hotel over xmas) for the first two nights the two of us were in a small private room with 3 bunkbeds, a sink, a dirty desk and a broken chair. we pushed two beds together to make a very sleepable full sized high bed. the third and fourth night we were in a room with two singles which we also pushed together, much more room than the other room and two unbroken chairs but no table. overall not too bad but expect more of a hostel than a hotel. they let us use the kitchen downstairs with no fuss and the staff seemed friendly but blasé. in summary our experience (compared to other reviews) was pleasant but just expect the basics - not super clean, not roomy, not quiet, but for the price (cheaper than a hostel for a private) the marnix exceeded our expectations for a young couple on a budget. also the location was super - off the beaten path, not overflowing with tourists and close to the museums.
Cons: On the third day we were leaving as someone else was putting their key into our door and they said the hotel had given them our room also. i went down to sort things out and they said we were supposed to be in another room "you are in xxx? you should be in xxx.". they moved us but it doesn't seem great that they do not know who is staying where - something easily could have been stolen.

Pros: Reception open 24hrs so good to get drinks or snacks but only half a cup if a hot drink :-(

Pros: Great location
Cons: Booking was supposed to be with ensuite.
ensuite was a shower, not a bathroom.
bathroom on the landing was dirty, the taps were looses, the flushing system on the loo was in need of repair,
taps in room was loose so it turned the whole tap instead of just the nozzle.
idiots on the landing at 7am shouting and making noise wasnt the fault of the hotel i know, but it sure didnt please my fiancee.
the only people i would recommend this hotel to is stoners who dont care about good standards.

Pros: The room that we were allocated b2 (building 358) was surprisingly clean given some of the reviews we read after booking. there were no mice, rats or any other issues that people have previously stated. the kitchen area and bathroom was nice too.

Pros: Very close to action in amsterdam, and very nice staff. huge room.
Cons: We had a mouse in our room, and our room was not in the marnix hotel, but another down the street, just chjeck in at marnix.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, good location.
Cons: During rain, the roof leaked heavily. there were mice in the room. although they were tiny and cute, they still nibbled on some of our food. not cool.

Cons: There was a lot of noise on the first night from other guests/

Pros: Staff are friendly and helpful. location is perfect.
Cons: Room was not clean, very very basic accomodation but at these prices in amsterdam what can you expect i suppose.
