Hotel situated 10mins walk from Dam Square. Shops Restaurants and Bars in abundance in the area. Hotel reception dull and grubby looking. Staff in the reception not very welcoming and at times very unprofessional everything seemed too much trouble. Breakfast and service quite adequate. Bar very impressive based on the orient express but unfortunately very very expensive. Bedroom very nice and clean. Overall not too bad but I wouldn't stay there again. Should have opted for my first choice the Krasnapolsky in Dam Suare different class and no more expensive

I stayed here as a couple over the May Bank holiday weekend and could not fault the hotel with any issues. It was a very pleasant and comfortable stay. The stay were professional and courteous. Would recommend hotel

We had a great stay in this hotel and would not hesitate in recommending it to others. Room was spacious (118) and well-equiped. We were only minutes away from many major attractions. Staff were very friendly and most helpful with information on transport, places to visit and eat etc. Breakfast was very nice It was included in our package but would not have paid the 22 euros it was advertised for in the hotel. Some sort of restaurant/ cafe facilites within the hotel would have been nice for lunch or a light dinner but there was plenty to choose from in the vicinity. Would definitely go back!.

arrived early in amsterdam and went straight to the hotel on the off chance the room would be ready and it sure was ready which was very nice , hotel staff very helpful ,good location .

Lovely hotel with friendly, courteous staff. The whole place was beautifully furnished, very clean. Very nice dining room - huge choice for breakfast. The cutlery was polished, none of those horrible stains and bits of food clinging to the fork that you see in other hotels, the crockery shone, the service was amazing and we had proper serviettes not those dreadful paper things that disintegrate when used. Bed very comfy. Only downside was that as the room was warm we had to keep the window open at night and although we were at the side of the hotel there was a lot of noise from people passing and also from the trams on the main road. Even so I would stay here again and just bring earplugs next time!

Pros: Bedroom was a good size and cleaned well each morning.
Cons: Breakfast serving staff were not very organised and sometimes not very attentive. hot breakfast food was only luke warm each of the 3 mornings we were there.
