All in all, this was an acceptable place to stay. I have a couple complaints, though. Zurich is a noisy place. The walls leading to the outside street are very thin. Even though the guesthouse is not on the main old town drag, there are many late night passersby (and some that just linger outside ALL NIGHT, talking loudly). It seemed as if the window was wide open all night. You're at the mercy of party people hours. It was quiet from about 5am - 10am. Also, the chiming clocks go off a couple times an hour and the thin walls offer no muffling. Be aware. My only other complaint is that the stench of the disinfectants used in the hallways leading to the rooms is STAGGERING. It's a very unpleasant baby powder smell that is gag-worthy. Thankfully, the smell was not in the rooms. Otherwise, the rooms are tidy, minimal and you are central to the old town portion of Zurich. Just adjust your awake and sleeping hours to match the nightlife culture.
