"Great value for a great location"

I stayed in The Pestana at the end of April. The location was perfect (10 minute walk to Sloane Sq) and I was visiting friends in Clapham which was down the road.. the rooms were tastefully decorated and clean. the staff were very helpful and friendly. for the price we paid I couldn't not recommend this hotel higher

"Excellent !"

Do not hesitate to book a room in this hotel. At the beginning I thought it was far from the center of Lonodon... It was a mistake. You have the Bus 44 just in front of the door to go to Victoria Station and so on... The room, the service, the restaurant, the pool... everything is perfect ! I will come back !

"Pounds or Euros?"

Great hotel with views across London, the Thames and Battersea Park, which is why I booked it.Rooms facing east have morning sun obviously but suffer from the constant rail traffic below. If you're sensitive, I'd chose the rooms facing west and the park which I didn't try.When I made the reservation I assumed it was € 130 per night as advertised by EasyToBook but I later checked it and to my amazement, it was € 150 ... Hidden costs or a mix-up of pound and euro symbol?So make sure you check your reservation straight after making it and not stupidly trust like I did, that you pay what you ordered. Amounts may mysteriously change in the process...Single and double occupancy don't make a blind bit of difference in this plush etablissement either. For 2 people sharing 120 pounds might be ok in the center of the "world capital" but for a solo traveller a bit pricey.Spa is only open to 7pm on Sundays and Mondays which is a shame in winter...What's the point of having a spa if it's not open when you most need it - coming back in the evening obviously, whether on business or leisure.Apart from that staff are really nice. Maybe it's the Portuguese element but I had the impression of being genuinely and warmly welcomed.

"Lovely 4 star - hidden gem"

Excellent stay. Not close to the chelsea shops, about 20 min walk but an excellent modern hotel. Would defo go again. One disappointment was that we told the hotel we were celebrating our anniversary, my day and valentines day but the did not do anything special, despite asking, which every other hotel we have stayed at have done before. Other than that can't fault the hotel at all. Excellent modern clean hotel. They gym is not really a gym, very small in a bedroom with only few equipment.

"A must for Floyd fans!"

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Unlike some reviews I read, it is very easy to reach by public transport, at least 3 buslines stop almost in front, including line 44 (5 mins from Victoria Station) and a nightbus. Also a railway station is within walking distance (Battersea Park).The location was for me quite sentimental as my room overlooked the Thames and Battersea Power Station. Anyone who appreciates the 1977 Pink Floyd album Animals should request a room with river view! Very impressive.Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, an ironing board which I requested was brought to the room at exactly the agreed time. A charger was arranged late at night for my cellphone which was running low, very friendly people work there.I did not have breakfast, lunch or dinner at the hotel as I thought the prices were quite high. Instead, I can recommend a Roman restaurant almost around the corner (Metrogusto, 153 Battersea Park Rd). Kitchen is open all day till, I believe, 9:30 PM. Fantastic food, lovely jazz music, proper coffee and wines, friendly staff.The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and a beautiful white sofa, a rainshower and bathtub, all very clean and well maintained. A window in the room could be opened which I really like (prefer fresh air over airco).The park opposite the hotel looked very attractive but I did not have time to take a stroll unfortunately.Only thing I missed was the flying pig over Battersea Power Station.. ;-)All in all a place I would be happy to return to!

"Fantastic value"

Cannot fault the hotel - comfy rooms and beds- polite service and amazing value for money parking next door (we stayed on a weekend which was £4.00 per 24 hours. The hotel and rooms were very clean and the sofas a lovely touch to the room. Highly recommended !!

"Good value - spacious rooms"

I have stayed at this hotel several times when I have been able to get a good rate because the rooms are very spacious for London and well appointed. The service is good. The downside is the fact that there isn't a tube station within easy walking distance.

"My Birthday Treat"

Great location, great view, stunning room. I love the lay out, decor and bathroom. I had a relaxing 2 nights stay, swam each day, used the steam room and sauna, The staff all round the hotel very polite, ate in the restaurant on site had the calamari starter and the prawn and chilli spaghetti..it was so yummy, next morning the buffet breakfast...easy reach to kings road, very safe, well lit and good bus service, definitely coming back...even got free internet for an hour in my room as it was my birthday so i could skype my family...

"Location"

On all reviews we looked at before the stay, it said the hotel was located near all tourist attraction such as westminster, piccadily, oxford circus however, this was very untrue. There was a 10/15 minute walk to the over train which then had to take you to the nearest tube station. The hotel was far from central and although it was a very clean and nice hotel, the location wasnt for us and i wouldnt reccomend it for someone wanting to come and visit the main areas of London.

"Citytrip"

Excellent hotel near the river Thames. With an Oyster Card you can catch the bus just in front of the hotel. Nice and helpfull staff, clean rooms. Would stay here again. If needed, parking next door..

"Nice Hotel"

This is a fantastic hotel. But the only negative aspect is, being a four star hotel, it does not offer free WiFi. Many cafes and small outlets across London, offer free WiFi but it was a pity that despite being costly, this hotel has not been able to arrange this.It's connection with public transport is quite good (in 25mins you are in Marble Arch and Oxford circus, in 5mins you are in Victoria). The rooms are excellent, the hotel staff are friendly. I'd strongly recommend this hotel.

"We found no problems with the hotel"

Pros: We found no problems with the hotel. rooms are excellent as of june 2010. the staff are efficient enough and the hotel itself is close enough to wc1 that being located south of the river made little difference. a genuine 4*
