"Great location but........."

Our first experience of this hotel was when we were checked in by Milady, the receptionist-and a less welcoming reception I have never experienced. We paid 1854 dollars in cash and she had such trouble counting it. She snapped at the porter who was on his phone for distracting her and at me when I had the temerity to suggest that she lay the money in 100 dollar bundles. Her attitude was unfriendly, impolite and unwelcoming. We were leaving alot of money in the hotel in cash and her attitude was BAD.It took a total of 30 minutes to check in and we were left feeling like we wanted to go back out the door.Fab location, beds uncomfortable, rooms dated and top marks to Sayme the cleaner. The breakfast is a little boring but is good value. Other meals in the restaurant were excellent. All in all I would say that for location alone this hotel is worth considering if you're staying in Manhattan-1 block from Macys, 5th Avenue and the Empire state.

"Excellent Hotel!"

We stayed here for 7 nights from 6-13 October. We were so happy with our choice as it is an excellent hotel. Location is absolutely perfect and very central. The 34th Herald Square subway is at the end of the street but is also within walking distance of many tourist places. Our room was so spacious, very clean and tidy. The highlight was the view of the Empire State Building from our room! Amazing to see it lit up at night. The room was cleaned everyday and towels were replaced. Breakfast was included and was enough to sustain us for the morning, you can get cereal, toast, bagels, waffles, pastries, eggs, tea and coffee. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family as it is very clean, brilliant location and great value. An overall excellent hotel!

"Week in new York"

I booked this hotel for a weeks stay for myself and mum. On arrival we booked into our room very quickly. Our room was a little small but clean and comfortable. That evening staff asked if everything was ok and my mum mentioned the room size, but not in complaint and they offered to move us to a bigger room the following day when one became available. This we did. All the staff were brilliant, room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. The location of the hotel was excellent, around the corner was Macys and the Empire state building. Subway was end of block. Most things were walking distance. Would recommend baseball match and a meal over the road in the Irish pub. We had a fab time and would certainly use this hotel again.

"great location, outdated rooms- cleaner pays flying visit"

very slow to check us in upon arrival, the hotel though is constantly busy in reception as it really is a popular hotel for Europeans due to its location. Very basic breakfast with their not being a lot of space , breakfast was always busy and chaotic no matter which time we ate . The rooms were not large but were quite adequate ,we heard the cleaner go in to our room from our friends room next door ,and timed it at 3 minutes ...to make bed and wipe around .The windows were filthy unable to see out of the main one in our 10th floor room.All in all a good experience but at 279 US dollars a night for 6 nights we thought it overpriced,but to give it a low rating would be unfair ,had we been spending more time in hotel we may not have been so happy as it is just a basic no frills hotel

"super location"

The hotel is clean, good breakfast, Nice people. The location is the best. Around the corner of macys and empirie state building. The rooms ar ok, bathroom a little old and the bad thing is you cant open de window of some rooms. Frist we had to stay on the 3rd floor, bljak so depressing. Room 1007 was good, it was a smoking floor but you cant smell it. It was clean and ok. And the window coyld be opende from the bathroom.

"Not too satisfied"

The hotel is not in a good shape, the breakfast room dirty and no good quality of the food. We had payed for breakfast, but only had it for the first too days. We decided to eat out instead. The air conditioning in the room went up and down in sound, and made it difficult to sleep. I asked for a vase in reception because it was my birthday and I received some flowers, and was told that they could not help, and was told to ask in the restaurant, where it was no personnel.

"Short break"

excellent location, quiet and within easy walk to most shops and attractions. Friendly and helpful reception staff, good breakfast - enough to fill you up until dinner time.

"No room"

We booked 2 double beds for the 4 of us and when we arrive they give us a queen bed for all of us and belived that was acceptable. We complained and they have us a fOld out bed free of charge (woah) which was only a single and the door didn't close. After persisting we weren't staying there, 3 hours later (midnight) they gave us a double room. It was a rediculuous wait for nothing!! But the room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was decent.

"choose another place to stay"

Good location and that s all.Smelly , Dirty, breakfast terrible, lot of noise and no cold in the rooms because of air con inefficient. Price not so low for such a bad value.

"Mixed feelings"

We stayed in this hotel for one week. The hotel is very clean and the service is quite good. Unfortunately there was a labour in the street that started quite early, so we awoke rather early in the morning. But that was not the responsibility of the hotel. Breakfast was a bit poor. Hardly enough room for the guests, often too few knifes and possibility to toast, and a limited access of eatware.

"Not a hotel for four in a room"

We had originally booked this hotel to stay for five nights, but only stayed one. The room we were allocated was very small, dark and not as described. We asked shortly after arrival if there were any other rooms available, and was told by the female receptionist that the hotel was full, however this was not the case. We returned to the room to check on the Internet and we could have booked a room that evening. We were not prepared to stay so looked for another hotel, which we found. On checking out in the morning and advising the male receptionist that we were leaving, we were asked if we would like to see another room! We advised him of the events of the previous night and said no it was too late as we had booked elsewhere.

"good value of rooms, extremely poor in breakfast"

we have enyoed our stray in the hotel, it well situated and calm. The only cruitique we have is on the breakfast: everythiung was very poor, we never ever had faced such a poor quality of coffee and marmelads, sausages, cheese were not available. That leads to that poor rating in service.For that reason i cannot recommend the hotel to a friend.During breakfast the container of ice-cubes were refilled by a member of your staff: he used a white box to carry the ice-cubes which was dirty, the outside of this box was dark brown. Thanks god I had the night before a beer instead of a Martini.

"could be better"

An old-fashion hotel, in a good locationthe room wasn't good cleaned; the sheets were dirty when we arrived and we have to ask to change themA little bit noisy very early in the morning ( we were close to the door of the cooridor)

Pros: Breakfast was good, location was good, reception staff were friendly
Cons: The service was awful - they forgot to change the towels on numerous occasions despite telling the reception staff. the chemicals used to clean the hotel room were awful and the heating system was either on or off - you could not vary it. the reception staff were sometimes obviously rude and sarcastic - almost everyone staying at the hotel had a discount so they assume we are tourists and not used to traveling

With the high number of rooms in Comfort Inn Manhattan Hotel, choice is plentiful. You can expect a memorable stay here thanks to the 3-star rating. Penn station is a useful public transportation option nearby. Not only Empire State Building, but also Bryant Park and Chrysler Building, are a pleasant walk's distance from here. You can walk to Times Square, Radio City Music Hall or Grammercy Park from here. The accommodation is in a great position for a trip to Victorian Gardens.
