"Location,location,location"

This Hotel was perfect for "bike New York " , close to the bike expo and the ferry landing at the finish. The hotel clerks were very accomadative , the rooms are larger than any hotel in the city for this price. My friends and I will be here next year.

"Much bigger room than is normal for the area and price"

Pros: Much bigger room than is normal for the area and price. trendy room design. helpful staff.
Cons: Bed was quite hard and seemed cheap. wifi was extremely variable. mine was unworkable, but a colleague had excellent connectivity on the next floor.

Pros: Very good looking hotel room and plenty of space.
Cons: I could not check--in at the regular time. they let me wait a few times and they postponed the time each time and my time was only limited, so that was no good. and indeed the smell of cleaning spray in the elevator was a little too much.

Cons: I had booked two rooms, but upon arrival i was informed i had only one room reserved. luckily the staff at the reception was able to put me in a room where the person did not show up, otherwise i would have stayed in a bad situation.

"Franky the concierge was excellent"

Pros: Franky the concierge was excellent.
Cons: I shortened my stay by 3 nights yet my bill was almost identical to my original full 12 nights. the hotel also caught on fire on my last night, the fire alarm went off but we were told not to evacuate. i inspected the hotel hallway and it was filled with smoke so chose to evacuate anyway. the fire brigade put out the fire but had the fire got out of control we may have not been able to escape as the fire started in the basement. severe oversight on hotel's concern for patrons safety!

Pros: The staff were very knowledgeable and polite throughout our stay. the room was large, clean and the bed comfortable. the location is excellent.
Cons: I was surprised the hotel was underrenovation - dont remember seeing anything advertised about this and there was a disgusting stench permeating throughout the hotel and particularly in the reception area. the carpets in the room were rough, old and should have been destined for a hostel let alone a wall street hotel!! not nice. there was no free breakfast tea in the room except fruit tea or percolated coffee and no kettle so had to heat water for the fruit tea in the microwave oven in the cup - not particularly safe! the aircon was very dated and noisy and not very effective.

Pros: The door man, lamond, was the best part of our experience at this hotel. he was fantastic
Cons: The carpet throughout the hotel needs to be replaced. it's very old and very dirty. also, both rooms that we rented had disfunctional toilets (but that's a little bit more understandable than the carpet as it's an older building).
