"Great basic hotel for no frills"

Good clean hotel, shared bathroom/shower, but clean and not too busy.No kettle or snacks in room, but clean and good location. I feel it could be slightly cheaper for what it is, but would stay again. Staff very helpful and friendly.

"trip to nyc"

Staff quite friendly.The hotel is very well located.Not far from the Empire State Building.The room is clean.A bit noisy the second night but not the third night.I recommend this hotel.it is a good value.

"excellent situation"

A very pleasant stay at this hotel, very clean. The manager and the receptionists were very helpful. Many restaurants and coffee shops around. A street away from the tube station. Very safe area to walk back to the hotel any time. If you can afford it, book a room with a private bathroom, although the shared ones have always been clean.

"Two lovely nights in New York"

Small, but very adequate, clean rooms. Excellent free in-room Wi-Fi connection. Like the room, the shared bathroom was also very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy walking or short cab distance from New York landmarks. Subway by hotel also.Will definitely look to stay in this hotel again on my next visit to New York.

"Bad service, small Room, No Wardrobe"

It looks the staff never heard something about service. They are very rude to customers, don't like to talk and help with anything. Rooms don't have wardrobe and are absolutely too small. Never again.

"Worth the money"

Very cheap hotel, walking distance to many great places. My room was tiny and shower wasnt inside and wifi wasnt strong but hey, if ur looking for a nice little place just to sleep, definetely go to hotel 31!

"It's a reasonable place to stay"

To start, the service we recieved wasn't the best, the receptionist wasn't in the best mood and tried to charge us more than what the booking price was. The location may be the best thing about this hotel, 3 blocks away from Empire State and one from the metro station. Also, there is a very nice restaurant (recommendable for breakfast) called Cosí at the NE corner of 31 St. and Park. Unluckily the street where it is located isn't very nice compared to the area it is located.The room was really clean, although it was kinda little, but that's NY, so for that price it is really hard to find something bigger.I strongly recommend costumers to be aware and bring your booking details (especially price ) at the time for the check in.

"a nice hotel right in the middle of Manhattan"

my first impression: jesus what have I done! but the staff was very kind and the rooms are very small but clean. The hotel is situated right in the middle of Manhttan and all the spots of interest can be reached within a few minutes. Next time I will book this hotel again.

Well located hotel, rather central. Near to good breakfeastrestaurants.Not very much service from the hotel personal but from the other side, we did not ask for it eather. Small room but no sounds from outside. However, we did not start the ac because it looked like it could break the walls but it is not so hot in NY in october. We can really recomende this hotel, it`s abselutley ok. Enjoye

"Excellent service"

The hotel was ok but the service was great. they let us checj in earlier because we arrive very early and need sleep. All the people who works in this hotel were nice and helpful. They were part of the fact that our travel was good, simple and easy.The only "problem" for us was that the room was small ! But, anyway, the hotel is very well located when you want to be close to lot of good places in Manhattan.

"Hotel 31"

This hotel was exceptionally clean and the location near the Empire State was superb. We shared a bathroom and it was not a problem to access it and once again this was superbly clean. The room was small but we expected this and the hotel was as other reviews had described it. The staff were really helpful and nice and overall for a city hotel I would say it was very good.

"Great place!"

Stayed with my adult daughter for 10 nights. The service was excellent, 24 hours very friendly and helplful. Central located, very good for the low price! Rooms are small but:...its Manhattan! I can recommend staying at 31 st Hotel.

"Perfect location, reasonable price"

Pros: perfect location (close to subway line 6), clean, nice staff, 24h reception, nice neighborhoud, number of restaurants and bars aroundCons: the airco was really loud so we could not sleep with it, but to sleep without it was really hot... We had only 3 small towels with 2 people.Did not try the breakfast, we went for breakfast to other places (lots of around).

"Nice place"

Nice place.. close to subway.. safe place in night... nice people at desk... very helpful... rooms were good not too fancy but clean and neat...checked out in morning and flight was in evening.. they kept bags till evening in their storage without any extra charge...have to good value for money

Pros: Relatively cheap (as it is winter), sink in room, towels provided, daily maid service, great location, nice bathrooms.
Cons: Room was incredibly hot even during winter. we had to open window and have air con going. air con is incredibly noisy.

Pros: The hotel was fine - a small cosy room that was kept warm as it was a cold period - the room had wifi which was great - although a shared bathroom there is a sink and mirror in the room so you can prepare yourself and just go and shower. location was excellent

Pros: Hotel kept very clean and even though i was sharing s bathroom i never saw it in anything than exceptionally clean condition.
Cons: Only one lift, so you may have to wait a while if you're in the upper floors, but the stairs are easy to climb (i was on 8th floor and did this twice).

The room choice is plentiful at Hotel 31. With star class 2 you are sure not to overpay for your stay. Grand Central Station makes for simple accesibility to the surrounding area.
