The Ambassade Hotel consists of ten 17th-century “merchants” houses and stands on the imposing Herengracht in the heart of Amsterdam. A unique position in one of the most beautiful parts of the city; quiet, yet within walking distance of all major attractions. The houses have been carefully restored to maintain their authentic character and all 59 rooms and suites have been furnished and decorated in Louis XVI style, combined with modern art.

A traditional and extensive Dutch breakfast is served in the recently renovated breakfast room in the main building with views over the Herengracht. Apart from two lounges, the hotel disposes of an internet-office, a beautiful meeting-hall in 17th century style and a library with a collection of 2000 books, all signed by the authors during their stay at the Ambassade Hotel.

Over the last few years the hotel acquired a remarkable collection of paintings of which many by artists from the well-known Cobra-group. The Ambassade Hotel endeavors at all times to create a pleasant and warm atmosphere with efficient yet personal service in a stylish and tranquil ambiance. Koan Float, a unique float and massage center, is part of the hotel and has 3 cabines with relaxing salt water baths and 2 massage rooms.

Hoe bereik ik het hotel?

From Schiphol Airport: By taxi: To reach the hotel from the airport, taking a taxi is probably the most easiest way; The journey will take about 25 minutes and will cost approximately 40 Euros.

By train: Alternatively, trains go to Amsterdam Central Station every 15 minutes. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM. From Central Station, again, a taxi is the easiest way to reach the hotel.

From Amsterdam Central Station: By taxi: The taxi ride from central station takes about 5-10 minutes and costs approximately €10.00.

By tram: The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM. From central station also these trams go in the direction of the hotel: Take line 1, 2 or 5 to the third stop ("Spui"). Follow the direction of the streetcar, walk to the first corner (after 20 meters) and turn right and go into the alley between the two café's: “Café Hoppe” and “Café de Zwart”. Cross the Singel-canal and walk to the second canal, Herengracht, where you turn right. The hotel is located 50 meters further on the right-hand side.
