The high point about New York Inn New York is its location. Located within walking distance to many a New York attractions, you are never too far away from the action. Rockefeller Centre is just a few blocks away from here where you could enjoy a round of ice skating. Times Square, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Radio City Music Hall are also walking distance from the hotel. The Broadway Theatres are a stone’s throw away from the hotel and so are Central Park, Empire State Building, and Madison Square Garden. The hotel is surrounded by a number of exciting eateries, pubs, night clubs and comedy clubs where you could spend an evening or two. All sorts of services are only a walking distance away (laundry, mail, shipping, business centers, pharmacies, convinience stores etc).
The nearest metro station is the 50th ST station with the C & E trains. The port authority bus terminal is also at walking distance and so are many other metro train lines. Penn station and Grand central are also nearby.

From there, take metro line A and get off at metro stop '42nd St - Port Authority Bus Term. Station'. The hotel is at walking distance from the metro stop.
By taxi, from JFK Airport: Taxis into the city take anywhere from 30-60 minutes. They cost $45 "Flat Fare" to Manhattan (as of 2007-07) NOT including bridge tolls and tip. Taxis are cash only. Make sure to hail a cab in the designated areas or ask a uniformed airport employee to help you. Generally, it's polite to tip at least a dollar per bag if the taxi driver assists you.
By public transport, from LaGuardia Airport: You can take the Q33 bus to Roosevelt Avenue-Jackson Heights or 74th Street and Broadway in Jackson Heights Queens. If you get off the bus at Roosevelt Avenue, you can catch the E trains into Manhattan and get off at metro stop '50th St Station'. The hotel is at walking distance from the metro stop.

Goede plek, op loopafstand van central park, time square, empire statebuilding, broadway. ontbijt was redelijkj: bagel met omelet, cookie, koffie, maar geen cereals. ondanks de miserabel staat van het hotel, was het hotelpersoneel zeer attent. Kamer was té klein, badkamer was in miserabele staat, de aircofilter was niet schoon. we zaten op de vierde verdieping, maar er is geen lift, dus dat betekent 60 treden naar boven lopen. vond het brandgevaarlijk. erg oud hotel, is toe aan vernieuwing (slopen dat gebouw). niet aan te raden voor ouderen en gezin met kinderen. eerder voor jongelui. 25 Jul 09
Erg aardig personeel, wijzen je overal heen. bijzonder goed ontbijt in een subway naast het hotel.De douches zijn erg oud en niet fris, gaten zitten in de bedden, erg kleine kamers.16 Jun 09
Op de kamer was een enorme flatscreen. het personeel was erg vriendelijk. Veel lawaai van airco's in naastgelegen kamers en door een lekkage doorweekte vloerbedekking. het ontbijt was in het ondergelegen 'subway' restaurant, het eten was er niet bijzonder, je kon alleen een bagel met omelet krijgen. dus niet veel keuze. 11 Mar 09
Ligging van het hotel is ideaal. personeel is uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam.Het hotel maakt een verwaarloosde indruk. het bed is schoon, maar in de kamer ontbreekt de mogelijkheid om je spullen in een kast op te bergen. het hotel moet je uitsluitend zien als een mogelijkheid om te overnachten. er is geen centrale ruimte aanwezig waar je buiten je kamer kunt vertoeven.11 Dec 08

Het hotel ligt midden in het centrum van manhattan, ideaal. times square, central park, empire state building, 5th avenue: allemaal lopend bereikbaar.
de hotelmedewerkers zijn enorm vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
het hotel is niet spotgoedkoop, maar wel voor new yorkse begrippen.
het hotel is heel goed te doen als je niet veel luxe verwacht. (je bent het grootste deel van de tijd waarschijnlijk toch niet op de hotelkamer)De kamer was heel erg klein. de douche ook. de wasbak is zo smal dat je met je schouders niet tussen de muur past.
als je binnenkomt kun je het gevoel hebben 'waar ben ik in godsnaam beland?'. het ziet er enigszins onverzorgd en niet goed onderhouden uit: losse tegels in de badkamer, los behang, lawaaierige airconditioning, losse bedrading...
maar geen onoverkomelijke dingen. nogmaals, goed te doen omdat je er eigenlijk alleen maar slaapt.
