Hoteller i Coly
The Dordogne department of France is often visited for the town of Sarlat, but the village of Coly, or Saint-Amand-de-Coly is a wonderful little village to stay in. Particularly if you are a fan of Perigord architecture, you’ll want to check EasyToBook.com for a discount hotel in Coly (and you can read hotel reviews at the same time). The traditional village has all the traditional hallmarks of Perigord architecture, such as yellow stone walls and finely tiled roofs. As you approach Coly, you will not fail to notice the church of St. Amand de Coly. Though much of the current structure was renovated in the 19th and 20th centuries, the church actually was first built in the 12th century. Like many churches in Europe, it sits on the site of an earlier religious building; in this case, an abbey chapel. Outside of town, you can find the 15th century Chateau de la Grande Filolie. It sits in a verdant, pleasant park surrounded by woodlands. There are several other chateaux within 30 kilometers – Chateau de Monfort and Chateau de Hautefort are the closest. No matter what else you see, do not miss the famous Lascaux caves – they’re just 9 kilometers from town.
