Angels Garden Hotel Istanbul  

The pictures in the profile gave a positive impression. The rooms in reality are in a very poor condition. The bathrooms are "miniaturistic", the wallpaper is old and ugly and dirty, the windows cannot be closed. The street is very noisy. The offer of using the Hamas and Sauna for free was limited to one visit and the appointment was forgotten by the staff. The breakfast is very puristic. The people are friendly and the location is good, it is just 500 m to the Grand Bazar and 400 m to the Tram Station. The price value ration is not good.

Stayed in April 2013 for 4 nights. Normal location, you can walk to the main recreation. The friendly and helpful staff. All the rest - the horror: the rooms, the noise outside the window. air conditioner. Hardly will stop here again

It was my partner and my first time to Turkey, and we didn't really know where would be a good place to stay when we booked Angels Garden. To our delight it ended up being in a great location, just a walk up the hill (and I mean up the hill) and we were at the main road with Grand Bazaar and the tram line . About 10 mins walk along the main road and you were at the Blue Mosque and Cistern. Down the hill about 5 mins was some great fish restuarants and the water front. The staff were also incredible. They were very friendly and very helpful. Upon arrival our bags were taken to our room for us, and we were talked through how everything in the room worked ie. tv remotes etc. We were also given a map and a shown where on the places that we should visit were and how to get there. We were also able to get the staff to organise a boat cruise for us for the next day which took a lot of hassle out of having to do it ourselves. We were also going on a two day tour to Gallipoli/Troy and the staff at Angels Gardens were very good in getting messages to us from our tour who had called through to confirm collection times and locations. The staff spoke excellent English and were always extremely friendly which made the whole stay that much easier and enjoyable. The hotel has great facilities, a rooftop terrace where breakfast was served, a turkish bath where you could get massages and free wifi which is always a bonus.The only complaint is that due to the location the street can be quite busy during the days and so there was not really an opportunity to sleep in because cars would be beeping/ people yelling and talking out on the street from the early hours of the morning. Apart from that though, the room was a good size, quite clean (didn't have a bin which was a little annoying when we were trying to discard unwanted things like many shopping bags from the Bazaar) and the bed was quite comfortable.I would absolutely stay at this hotel again if I go back to Istanbul.

Firstly, location is really nice, secondly, the price is good, thirdly, rooms are clean and nice. I would recommend this hotel and I hope you will enjoy there.

Oh Angel's Garden... We stayed there for a week, while we were in Istanbul and the location is fantastic. Just a few minutes down and you're in the middle of numerous colourful and lively restaurants. A few minutes up and you're within reach of the tramvay and metrobus systems and the Grand Bazaar. So A+ for location. Also, Tiyatro Caddesi is a busy street, so expect some noise during peak work times (like midday). It is also quite an incline/slope, so be warned. The staff are very nice and helpful, too. We needed an adaptor for the power outlets (Europlug was not what we had) and the guys at the desk had what we needed. The room was small and a little cramped, so was the bathroom. For a boutique hotel, rated 4* on this website, it is nice, but could be cheaper. You don't get what you pay for. We expected the room to be bigger and were a little disappointed. The room has a mini-bar/fridge and a safe; there is a TV, but it is tiny < 20",Would recommend it only for the staff, location and convenience.

we stayed in there for 4 nights it was really good and close to oldcity....clean but small hotel...breakfast was simple.....walk distance to all historical places ...also stuff was great pls choose 3002 or 4002 room its huge...they service to us for dinner it was special turkish foods and ok

the hotel location was very good but not is a very nice area.
Cons: The room offered was very small and we did not feel that the hotel should be a 4 star, more like a 3 star. however, we were moved to a bigger room.the breakfast was a bit boring and cold scrambled eggs is not something i enjoy.we would have prefered coffee and tea making facilities, given that there was not much choice at the restaurant, however, the staff did provide us with a kettle and cups.
the tv viewing was very limited with just 2 english programmes. better sat tv would be good.
the shower cubicle was very dodgy and a health and safety risk and also leaked so we had a soggy floor all the time.
