    St. James's Gate Brewery Details

St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin was first lease by Arthur Guinness in the year 1759, for an astounding 9,000 years. Home of the world famous Guinness beer, the St. James's Gate Brewery plant was literally its own small village, with the brewery owning much of the surrounding property. At one time there was even a narrow gauge steam engine, that ran on the brewerys own set of railroad tracks, as well as its own power plant. At the height of the company, the brewery encompassed almost a full 64 acres. You can take a tour of the brewery, as well as look through the Guinness Storehouse exhibition. Not only does this exhibition provide a glimpse into the brewery of the past, but it also provides a spectacular view of Dublin from the uppermost floors.
