Hôtel Alyss Saphir Cambronne Eiffel Paris  

Pros: Although english is obviously not the first language of the receptionists they spoke brilliantly and very informatively.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Pros: The staff spoke english, which really helped. the room was clean and new towels were provided each day.
Cons: The lift was so small, you could barely fit one person and your suitcase in, so we had to lift it upstairs ourselves (i noticed other guests were doing the same). the air conditioning wasn't very good, we just had a little plug in thing that we had to keep on all night and it was quite loud. the shower kept on going from warm to cold to hot which was a bit annoying. we never went to the hotel's breakfast as we found a really good patisserie across the road but when we checked out on our last day, the hotel tried to charge us for breakfast because they had an initial next to our hotel room - but it wasn't ours!

Pros: 5 minuit walk from choice of 3 metro stops, 10 minuits walk from eifle tower and river seine, nice shops/bars supermaket, resurants in area, hotel just finishing renovations small lift cute stairs, helpful staff, airport transfers if needed (saving money meto 9e direct)room compact, very clean and adequit if on a budget.

Pros: The hotel was in a great location and relatively well priced. there are great little cafes and amenities in the area, as well as 3 metro stations within 5 minutes walking distance.
Cons: There are three major problems with this hotel.
1. they are doing renovations inside the hotel. this means there is drywall, paint buckets, tarps and contruction mess everywhere...and the workers start work at 8:00 am during weekdays. so if you are planning to sleep in.....try somewhere else. the website says that the construction would be finished by march 2009, we were there in april-may and they are nowhere near finished.
2. the website says that the rooms are sound proof. not true...we could hear everything that was being said or done in all the rooms around us.
3. do not let the look of cleanliness decieve you! it is not very clean....we left the hotel with scabies!!

Pros: We were really pleased with this hotel. it cost 50 euros a night which was one of the cheapest hotels we could find in paris. the hotel is well situated near the metro and eiffel tower. the room was clean, quiet and had a flat screen television in. would recommend it.

Cons: The lift stop in the middle which means you have to carry your lugguage up or down to the floor of your stay.
