Well maintained hotel, rooms of average size (for Paris) with all necessary facilities (including water cooker), comfortable beds, quiet, very friendly and helpful staff. Good location, close to Republique metro station (and some others, but R. has the most connections). Several bakeries and cafes around, so no need to buy breakfast at the hotel.

My partner and I were originally staying in truly crap hostel in the 20th and *had* to leave after the first night (ick). We booked what was available and within our budget (less than 100usd per night) and found the Hotel Aida Marais. Not only is this hotel situated near a metro with five connecting lines, but the staff was so friendly and obliged me in speaking French but also spoke English in times when I truly needed to understand *exactly* what they were saying. I did not have breakfast at the hotel but all other aspects of our stay were beyond our expectations. There is one of the best brasseries I've ever encountered just down the street (Parigot) where the duck and risotto was...indescribably good; it was a recommendation from the desk clerk. The neighborhood is lively and staying here made for such a wonderful trip. You can see the Sacre Coeur from the sixth floor hallway window. I would absolutely stay here again as my first choice for accommodation.

The rooms are too small. The location is OK, near to Republique Metro station, eateries & shops but the street the hotel is on is quiet at night. We were warned by a man to be wary of locals. So the area must be notorious!

My daughter and I had a wonderful 5 days in Paris which was certainly enhanced by our accommodation. While the room was compact the beds were very comfortable, linen was crisp and clean with daily servicing of our rooms. The location of the hotel was great with a very short walk from a Metro Station, with heaps of restaurants and pastry shops and a couple of grocery stores around the precinct of the hotel. The staff at the hotel were friendly and very helpful. Rates at the hotel were very good. As you can tell highly recommend you try them out! You won't be sorry.

+ No problems with the reservation, friendly staff, two computers with internet connection in the hall, a good lift (that was not even very small!)The room was decent, freshly renewed (with lots of "pluses": coffee/tea making equipment, safe, enough soap, etc.), not noisy (first floor, looking onto the inside top of the patio), not small (not uncomfortable, in any case)Fairly good location (even if not a posh area), both J. Bonsergeant and République metros are close (couple of minutes), bakers, supermarkets, even a nice covered market, cafés are next door/nearby. (No point in taking the 12 euro breakfast, I'm afraid.) The canal St. Martin (a nearby) area was interesting to see. (Obviously a popular meeting place for young people.)The hotel does its best to deserve the three stars but it still doesn't feel a "real" one, difficult to explain why.-Got a room (for the first night) with a very strong paint smell (it could be approached from the patio) which cost more than a nicer room on the first floor I got from the 2nd. I know it only because my friend who stayed in one like that from day one paid less - for a better room! (I did the reservation for both of us, We were there at the same time. There must be some fiddling with the prices: they were talking about the difference between double and twin rooms but the smelly room had a shower, simple wallpapers, a tube going through the middle of the room and the same bed as the "better" one, which had tiles on the wall, a bathtub with shower and no objects to bump into in the room.)Although I noticed the smell the first day (and we were going to stay for 5 nights), the receptionist said he couldn't give me another room. (Next day: a new receptionist and could change rooms immediately. Interesting...)The short (but steep) staircase leading up to it was dirty.Although the window onto the patio had a dark curtain, it did not cut out the light for the night. All in all: even if you are a bit choosy (like I am) it was acceptable and could imagine to go back. (Although only at the price we got it: max. 81 euros/night.)

a very fine hotel and nice rooms. But it took too long time to get help in the reception and the cleaning was not that good.

the room was very, very small and the toilet too.the breakfast is very poor, it cost 12€ ( so too expensive for what you can eat)the reception personal was kindly.

Good location near metro. English speaking desk attendents that were helpful in providing driections to sights and referals to good places to dine. Good quality beds.

Aside from the fact that it's a little of from where all the action is, it is a good hotel to stay in if you're on a budget. All I recommend is that you are willing and able to learn the train routes to make sure you are able to go to the hotspots of Paris. The service was OK except for one guy that checked us out, he was very friendly and helpful compared to the other three that helped us (Alejandro was very nice and so is the young guy). The rooms are small but again, you get what you pay for....they are clean though.

I stayed in one of the ground floor rooms. They have a windows that gows in a internal court so there is no natural light (can't tell if it's night or day.) You'll have to have the curtains on as there are lights in the internal court. There is no possibility to opne the window, so everymonring I woke up with a very sore throat. The double bed is made of 2 single beds t so if you sllep more in the middle of the bed it won't be comfy. The staff is ok, Maybe if you get one of the rooms upstairs it's ok, but the lack of air and light made me gave one star to the review.

This not my choice of a normal hotel stay.The bathroom is a small cubicle 32 ins x 32 ins only. There's no kettle for boiling water so every hot drink you want have to buy from outside. Anyway,just for a bed to sleep its ok for the price you pay.

The maid came into my room without permission and the room was already clean. She should not have come in at all at that time. Items were missing from my room.

Cons: More like a 2 more star hotel. very basic. wires hanging from the hallway ceiling. noisy neighbours across the street

Pros: Great location, the staff who were friendly were amazingly helpful.
Cons: Plumbing was subpar in my room, couldnt adjust the heat to my preferences. the shower design was such that it was almost impossible not to get water all over the floor. about half the staff acted indifferent to my needs and were relatively useless (that being said the other half were incredibly helpful)

was told breakfast was complimentary and then was charged for it. charged for local calls as well.

Pros: Hotel's location was good very close to two metro station on diferent lines which was useful. rooms were clean.
Cons: We stayed on the second floor in the room close to the lift and everytime lift doors would open our bed would almost vibrate from the noice and wake us up. walls are very thin.

Pros: Enjoyed our stay at the aida marais hotel, good location, good value for a city hotel.
Cons: The only slight complaint for us was the maintenance work being carried out during our stay.
