"Exceeded Expectations"

I was looking for a hotel in this Latin Quarter area of Paris and it seemed hard to find a hotel with good feedback. This hotel was great - quiet, fantastic location and top end room). I'd recommend this to friends and family.

"A good hotel with few faults"

I booked this hotel primarily because of the location and good reviews on the internet. It was my first time in Paris and I do not know if this is usual, but room seemed rather small for the price. Also, when I usually stay in hotel for more than one night, I get a new complementary bottle of water every day. This was not the case in this hotel, although I asked for it.A big problem was the bathroom smell. Every time I returned to the room, there was a smell that could be described as sewer smell. I talked about it with the staff and they seemed helpful. They checked the room and could not find the reason. To solve the problem they also offered me a new room. However, at the end we agreed that I will stay in the same room and they will leave a room spray in the room. Obviously they forgot the later and the spray was never left in the room. One problem is also sound proofing. You basically hear your neighours everytime they open and close their doors which can be loud enough to wake you up.Overall, it is not a bad hotel, the stuff is kind and helpful. However, due to the price, next time I would try to find a different hotel.

"Great quiet location, good service"

Room was a bit small, but ok if you stay alone. I really liked the place - near Pantheon, close to RER, main touristic streets like Saint-Germain. Service was very friendly and quick.

"Lovely modern hotel"

great location, decor has modern twist to it and very clean. However the double superior rooms are very small!!! Staff are very friendly and obliging. Would stay there again but due to limited space 2 nights maximum.

Pros: The room was attractive enough, comfortable bed and room never got too hot.
Cons: Breakfast was very poor...had to ask for croissants and orange juice. bathroom was exceptionally cramped.

"The hotel is in a wonderful location--close to the luxembourg gardens,..."

Pros: The hotel is in a wonderful location--close to the luxembourg gardens, boulevard ste. germaine, and several good metro stops. my room was in excellent condition and faced a charming courtyard. the bed and linens were very comfortable. the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.

Pros: Having travelled around europe and the uk in the last one month, hotel de la sorbonne definitely stood out amongst all the hotels we've stayed in. love the atmosphere and decor of the hotel from the entrance, through to reception, hallway and our bedroom. the hotel was clean and cosy, and returning to the hotel in the evening almost feels 'exciting'. a definite hotel with so much of character. the locality was also a positive point.
Cons: The small rooms at the hotel, however, most hotel rooms in paris are small.

Cons: Rooms are very small and the web site give the impression they are bigger also i was charged for 2 rooms despite only booking 1 and having only 1 booking confirmation so it was an expensive couple of nights . i had no evidence with me to argue with them.
