"beautiful hotel with best location"

Beautiful hotel, right on canal. Excellent location with several very good shops and cafes right on your doorstep. Hotel of very high standard as were staff. Opulently decorated room with canal view & the most comfortable bed ever. Close proximity to city centre/Jordan area but very quite and relaxed. Would definitely recommend. Hope to visit again soon.

"Idiosyncratic, charming, original, delight!"

A long weekend with my daughter. Perfect for walking to all the key attractions in Amsterdam. Ideally positioned for a range of restaurants and bars, all at least good. Amazing breakfast, fabulous staff - shame about some boorish guests, unfortunately Essex. Estherea is a treasure.

"Lovely family run hotel"

Lovely hotel, small touches like sweets, coffee and snacks to help yourself to were really nice.Very nice rooms, we had a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi bath. Wardrobe space was minimal and to get to it we had to move the curtain which was a little annoying but apart from that we couldn't fault it.Perfect location, short walk from the train station but in the middle of the nine streets area and very near Joordan area, with lots of restaurants.

"Great stay for couple with baby"

My husband & I travelled with our 11 month old to Amsterdam, and this hotel could not have been more perfect for us. They upgraded our room to a larger one, provided a proper cot (wood, not a playpen) and had a welcome package for the baby too. There was a fridge in the room, they helped us by washing our baby food items in the restaurant dishwasher, they had a highchair, and generally wanted to help us in any way they could. The room was clean, comfortable (I just didn't love the pillow, but I have a fussy neck that doesn't often like any foreign pillow), and very nicely decorated in themes (ours was a blue room). Great location, close to EVERYTHING, and we were able to walk from the Centraal Station to the hotel. The front staff also gave fantastic dinner recommendations which were greatly appreciated. Recommend this hotel highly to anyone who wants to feel pampered, and in the heart of the nicer part of the city.

"Perfection!"

It was perfect. Very picturesque and well appointed for the holidays. Our room with a canal view was idyllic. The bath was luxurious. The entire hotel was a standout. I loved the saltwater coral reef aquarium in the lobby!

"Staying at Hotel Estherea"

As soon as you walk in the front door there is a very relaxed feel about the hotel. Beautiful furniture and décor both in the reception areas and the bedroom. Room was very comfortable, adequate space in the bathroom (3 adults sharing). Service was excellent. Hotel is ideally located for all the main attractions in Amsterdam. We would all highly recommend the Estherea and hope to return very soon!!

"Beautiful Hotel / Poor Service"

The Hotel Estherea is a beautiful, old hotel excellently located on the Singel Canal within a few blocks of the flower market. The lobby is comprised of a number of rooms, including a library and sitting room, is decorated in a wonderful, old world, eclectic way and features a number of large chandeliers. Rooms are on the large side for European hotels and continue the old world decorating theme. The hotel is located on the Singel canal (one of the main Amsterdam canals) , is only a few blocks from the flower market and within easy walking distance of Dam Square. Given all the positives of this hotel, it is a shame the service personnel fail the hotel. As one example, we requested the front desk to make dinner reservations for us at a seafood restaurant we had selected. When we returned to the hotel later in the evening, we were told the restaurant was no longer in operation. The desk did not make any alternative reservations for us, even though a seafood restaurant located blocks form the hotel was one recommended in hotel literature, and even though the desk informed us it would be impossible to dine at a good restaurant on a Saturday evening without reservations.

"Friendly, comfortable and well located."

The people of Amsterdam are unbelievably friendly and Hotel Estherea was every bit as hospitable. Most hotels in this area cost a little more but it's worth it. You can walk all day long and just stop off whenever you want. The room here was wonderful and the bathroom was very nice. I would stay here again. One can have the nicest hotel available but it's the people who work there that put it over the top,

"Honeymoon at Estherea"

My wife and I stayed here on honeymoon for 3 nights (Fri - Mon) August 2012. We arrived Friday evening by taxi so had no problems finding the hotel. We were greeted by friendly reception staff and shown to the room where they had prepared the flowers and champagne as I had requested by email.The room was a deluxe double, fairly spacious for Amsterdam centre with quaint decor and a nice large bathroom. The room overlooked the Spuistraat which at times was a little noisy in the morning but pretty quiet at night. We had some very nice weather so I was thankful for the air con, The windows could also be opened fully. The room (and hotel) was always clean.My wife found the bed a little too soft but I thought it was comfortable, which is unusual as I sometimes have back problems on a soft bed.We did not have breakfast at hotel, we preferred to get out and explore. However, we did make use of the tea and coffee making facilities in the lounge. The lounge was a nice area to sit and have a drink or watch the fish tank.The hotel location was convenient for most places, a short walk to Dam Square. The canal facing front of the hotel was quiet and peaceful. The reception staff were always happy to call a taxi for us.The overall experience at the hotel was very warm and friendly. The hotel itself is individual and different to the corporate style hotel and we liked this aspect, perfect for a honeymoon or romantic break The prices are not cheap but are value for money, especially central Amsterdam.My only negative points would be a lack of free wifi throughout the hotel and it costs more for a canal facing room.I would definitely stay here again with my wife.

"Fantastic..Super..Excellent"

Absolutely fantastic Hotel. The room was beautiful, the location is great without being to close to the Red Light district, breakfast was excellent & the service could not be faulted.Will definitely stay again when we next return to Amsterdam....Thankyou to all at Hotel Estherea...........

"a long weekend's"

Excellent location on canal and within walking distance of all major attractions. Hotel was traditional with wood panelling. Ample good quality loca restaurants. Room and bathroom were small and price was too high for a hotel with no restaurant.

"I would like to stay there again."

We took many pictures in the lobby as they had many beautiful furniture.The room was a bit small, but beautiful and comfortable. The complimentary drinks and the free computer service were avilable, which was great. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurants they recommended were all very nice, but they should be more updated about the taxi prices. We enjoyed our stay very much.

"Amsterdam 2012"

We were a party of 4 couples and all had lovely rooms. The proximity to the centre is very appealing and we stayed there 3 years ago. We would go back to Amsterdam and would try to stay at the Estherea. All loved the fish tank.

"beautiful decoration/dissapointing everything else."

i was a little dissapointed, as apart from beautiful decor there is not much to seperate this hotel from others of equal ratings that i have stayed in in amsterdam before. it stipulated pay tv but there was none and when we enquired if they had any english films to watch they said that they had 35 channels and wasnt that enough. but as far as i am concerned they should not have things printed on their literature or web site if they do not have them.you can get coffee from the reception but it would be nice to have in the room.we had problems with our jacuzzi bath which kept going off every 10 minutes, we were told that we pushed the button too much but directions for use might have helped.

"1st class"

Very impressive service and value for money all round. Lovely boutiique type atmosphere and staff are extremely helpful and pleasant.Bedrooms are also very nice in this affordable hotel in excellent location.Would not hesitate in booking again.

"Cozy hotel in a good location"

I found the Estherea to be a cozy, pleasant hotel in a good location with relatively good access to restaurants, etc. The staff were friendly and eager to accommodate. Staying on the top floor meant that my room was quiet so that sleep quality was very good. For the price, the (single) room was a bit small, but it certainly met my needs.

Pros: Our room was beautiful and the complimentary drinks were a treat. they also stored our luggage after check-out for the day without any hassle. a fantastic experience!
Cons: The room could have been a bit warmer in the chilly weather, but it was cosy.

O Hotel Estherea é um hotel de 4 estrelas, garantindo uma elevada qualidade de serviços e comodidades. Esta é uma excelente opção para aqueles que exigem uma grande selecção de quartos entre os quais escolher. Não é nenhum problema chegar a Begijnhof a partir daqui. É também bastante simples caminhar até Amsterdam Calabouço e Mercado flutuante das flores. Correios principal é um marco importante próximo deste alojamento. Royal Palace e Praça Dam também se situam nas redondezas. A A Igreja Nova fica bem perto de si se ficar instalado neste local. Este alojamento oferece uma localização perfeita, a partir da qual pode visitar Artis Zoo.
