Arnsberg, located in the North Rhine-Westphalia of Germany, incorporates the Sauerlandhills. Arnsberg is both a city and a region. Walk the forest in Naturparke Arnsberger Wald - Arnsberg Forest Nature Park. You can swim, fish or windsurf in the largest manmade lake in Westphalia, also part of the park. Arnsberg Nature Park will provide the entertainment and the scenery. Besides the park, there are other things to do in Arnsberg. During a weekend, Arnsberg offers visits to various gardens including the Botanical Gardens and Chinese Gardens in Bochum. Those fascinated with Arnsbergâ€™s industrial past can visit the Westphalia Industrial Museum Hannover Coal Mine/Kiddies Colliery. The museum operates out of Bochunâ€™s last operating mine. It closed in 1973. There are also German castles a Cistercian Monastery and various Gothic churches to see.
