 "Poor value for money, just a bed for the night"
I booked a weekend trip to Amsterdam at short notice and most of the 'quality' b&bs were full, so had to opt for a hotel; this was one of the few left at under £200 per night. The room was largely clean, though very scruffy and worn with chunks of plaster missing from the corner of a wall and water staining on the ceiling. The bath and shower were dirty with plenty of black mould in evidence and the basin was badly stained - looked as though it had soaked in strong tea for a couple of decades.The staff were pleasant and the room was made up well, but with charging over £280 for a two night stay, excluding breakfast, you think the owners would spend some money on refurbishment. I wouldn't stay again unless desperate!

Thought the hotel was brilliant value for money the staff were very friendly we would definitely stay there again when in Amsterdam.The bed was really comfortable and the room was very warm has home from home

 "Good location, poor room."
I am sure the room was lovely in the 90s but it hasn't been updated since. Enough room for the family, canal outside the window, just not very clean. The shower had an empty bottle of shampoo left there which made me wonder if the cleaner had been at all. Behind the beds - well, let's not go there... and the bathroom had the worst placed toilet I've ever seen, so close to the wall you couldn't sit on it properly. The phone did not work, not even to call the reception. Breakfast was ok and the staff were all friendly. It would be better if they spent more on their cleaning budget and less on the oversized tv. We would not stay there again.

when we arrived our room was not ready, we were offered other rooms, we also ended up with room 206, the heating control was broken and the room was a hot house, we slept with the big window open to be able to rest, the sink basin is stained and in general this hotel is in need of a refurbishment as it is looking tired,the room alocated to our son was already ocupied and he had to be moved again.breakfast was of a good standard and all staff were friendly.My wife has problems walking and all stairs are very very steep, the lift was in constant use by the cleaning staff with trollies causing extended delays for guests use.drinks were avaliable from a vending machine.... WOW 2.5 euros for 500ml of water, in the UK we can buy the same brand from Lidl for 99p for six, thats one hell of a mark up, in fact it was the same price as beer

 "Do not stay here!"
The hotel staff were the unfriendliest I have ever come across. The room was dirty - there were hairs all over the bathroom floor. The shower ran hot/cold/hot with no sensible or comfortable medium. There was a huge crack in the sink and the basin itself was worn out. Breakfast could not have been more basic. All in all, a very bad experience, one that I will not be repeating and that I thoroughly advocate as DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

 "great location pity about night porter"
Having stayed there recently with 7friends over a weekend.... arriving at the hotel everything seemed to be perfect.... location was great central to a lot of the attractions and nightlife Amsterdam have to offer. Got to the rooms which had two single beds that were extremely narrow and me being a tall person did not suit at all..... having gone out clubbing and arriving late back my room key did not work.... walking down to reception to get a new key I could not find the night porter. Ringing the bell for assistance I ciukd see that the nightporter was actually in the back office looking at me thru the cameras.... I had to wait for him 4 15 minutes before he came out and gave me a new keycard..... this was so ridiculous and his attitude was shocking

damp on walls bathroom dirty ground floor room I should have booked the Ibis nextdoor however they did find us another hotel (sister) was betetr ,I was told it would be the same price abut it was extra cost!!!!!

 "Mixed Review"
We stayed at Falcon Plaza because we didn't really have many other choices on short notice. The room itself was really nice and the people helping, although they looked like they needed a bit of happiness in them, were nice enough.There is lots of information, hints, guides on stuff to do in Amsterdam which is great. One complaint about the room is that when we paid the website did not mention city or tourist tax which i found quite frustrating. The other is that bathroom was missing a glass door so water could easily get onto the bathroom. The worst part was leaving. We ordered a shuttle service and paid 16 euros each. When we booked our hotel staff forgot to mention to the shuttle service that we had large amounts of luggage. In the morning we then had another 2 guests using the shuttle service with the same amount of bags. The shuttle service was late AND was a sedan. The shuttle person did not apologise for the mix up but called another car which was nearby to take us all. Definitely caused unnecessary stress as we had to go catch an international flight!

The hotel Staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was ok except the radiator in our room was broken and permanently on full which made the room very hot and difficult to sleep in. The sink in The bathroom was a bit grotty too and the plug did not work.

 "Excellent value , helpfull staff"
A mixed group of 5 of us stayed at falcon plaza aged between 29 and 43 , 2 males in a twin room and 3 females in a triple ... Everyone in our party never had a bad thing to say about our stay !!! The rooms were comfortable warm and clean, the breakfast was very good and the hotel staff couldn't do enough to help .
