"Helt ok hotell!"

Ett helt okej hotell med mycket trevlig personal. Rent och snyggt! Låg någon kilometer utanför Rom centrum men promenaden tog bara en kvart!

Washroom could be cleaner, it had poor ventilation and smelled! It should be mentioned in the hotel ad that it is the street with tram/train passing through all night!

"not bad"

Its a B&B; not hotel as mentioned.Heavy Luggage? No lift; though its mentioned as first floor, have to walk up 2 floor to reach reception and 1-2 more floor to reach ur room!Even after confirmation of my booking, they are overbooked and gave us a double room with bathroom in the corridor. Im already lucky? other guests were asked to stay at different apartment at few mins walking distance, hmmm take all the luggage down !!!!!!!!People at reception are quite friendly, the only advantage! Breakfast was good enough + good wifi.Beds: one can catch the sleep given no big demands on comfort level, its just 2 star after all.oh yeah, change of tooth brush, paste + towels + room sandals every day.

"Short stay in Rome"

The Hotel Portafortuna was clean, the room comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. The only misgivings I have is that the hotel was very poorly signposted and we had trouble finding it. There was a large front door that had seen better days with buttons showing who was in the building and the hotel was one of these. This gave me a bad feeling but to be fair once we were inside it was okay. To say it was a hotel was perhaps a play on words it was more of a bed and breakfast with rooms to rent. The main reason I booked this hotel was because it said it has a garden where you could take breakfast. This was utterly disappointing as it was a small square at the back of the hotel where the rubbish etc was kept. There was 2 small tables there where you got a contintental breakfast - not pleasant surroundings. I would not stay at this establishment again , although as I said it was clean and had al the amenities it had listed.

"Very nice!!!!!"

The hotel is located in the old china town few steps from one of the most important churches in Rome. Just 5 minutes walking from coliseum! I almost didn't ha ve to use the public transport. The restaurants around are not very good and is very expensive! When we arrive in the hotel I was scared about the stairs,but Suzana( the manager) was very attentive! She was always trying to help us! The young Chinese boy was very nice and attentive aswell he gave us some advices about shopping and places to go out!The room was very very clean and the bathroom had cleAn towels, liquid soap, new tooth brushes and hair dryer ( a very bad one, so bring your own). The breakfast was very poor, with the option to have in your room for free! There is always someone in the reception and is very safe! The air conditioner was really good and the bed very big and clean ( the matress is a bit hard). We liked a lot! Thank you Portafortuna!

"hey, read my review"

We had a brilliant stay in the hotel. It is a good base for walking around the city, as it is a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum and surrounding tourist attractions. It is also a 5 minute walk from the Termini Station which is very convienent for airport transfers and journeys to must see areas to visit such as Ostia Antica and Vatican City.We could not fault the service with a 24-hour reception, friendly staff and a generous continental breakfast served in a courtyard.Our room was a floor above the reception which allowed us privacy. The room and the bathroom were clean, we had a safe and amenities such as shampoo and toothbrushes. We slept well, however, the noise from the street begins early and is fairly loud. The hotel is excellent value for money, I would recommend it.

"Best price, great service"

This was a pleasant stay and hostess was amazing. Breakfast was served at the time we required and the room was with air conditioning. The bed was so big that at least 3 people could have had a pleasant sleep. I would suggest everyone to go there - even if you dont look for a budget solution, because the service was outstanding.

Location is great . staff is kind and helpfull just breakfast is a bit light (possible to take Breakfast in bedroom for free,terasse for breakfast is small. room was good and clean. bed was veryyyyyy big !!! Internet was great . Air conditioned is ok . Good and not expansive hotel not far from metro and from termini station .much stairs to reach reception so be carefull if you have problem with walking or heavy luggage

booked in sept 11 for march 12 arrived in hotel to find we were moved to another hotel 500 metres away had to walk with cases to new hotel to be greeted by a very rude receptionist at hotel rome love..room was on 5th floor made to walk up stairs with cases.then found a elevator.no prior advice of room tax prior to booking but first thing asked at hotel in cash suspicious but what do you do at mid night.room very basic not at all like picture .breakfast was a carton of juice a carton of yoghurt a crossant and ane cup of coffee in a cafe next door awful.taxi fare to and from airport not 45 euro actually 60 euro

"Good location"

This B&B is ok for a few days stay in Rome, especially when you come by train, because it's close to Termini railway station. The owners are Chinese, they are always eager to help. The breakfast is served in the room, it's quite poor: coffee, yogurt and bun.

"Very convenient location and easy to find"

Pros: Very convenient location and easy to find. not far from termini station or other metro stations. within walking distance to a lot of tourist destinations as well as several restaurants. the breakfast can be served at the room. would definitely stay here again as a solo budget traveler.
Cons: This is a very bare minimum establishment and the rooms are small. however, it is an excellent value for the price. it's close to private room hostel prices, but far better facilities and service.

Cons: First impressions were not good! the walls were covered in marks from shoes, the rooms were poorly decorated. shower head was broken, our window would not shut properly so it was verry noisy!

Helt ok hotell!

Hotel Portafortuna är klassat som 2-stjärnigt. Med färre än 20 rum känner du inte att du får trängas med folk. Besöksmål på kort avstånd från detta läge inkluderar Teatro dell'Opera och Teatro dell'Opera. Termini järnvägsstation erbjuder bra anslutningar i kollektivtrafiken.
