This simple but clean hotel is in a very good location, close to both the Leidseplein and the Museum Square. Rooms are small (e.g. we thought we would get a proper 3-person room, but it was a 2-person room with an extra bed right next to the double bed, really small). Staff was helpful but not over-friendly, stairs were steep (more like ladders, as is common in older Amsterdam houses). In all, good value for money.

Pros: Lovely and friendly staff, hotel located in a quieter and nicer part of the city but still very close to everything and lots of access elsewhere by tram, breakfast was good for the price and hotel service was excellent. great hotel for young people on a lower budget who are just looking for somewhere decent to stay.
Cons: Room got very very hot at night (but this is better than it being freezing!)

Cons: Ended up with a double room not twin, have to pay extra for breakfast don't bother it was terrible. clean rooms though which is the main thing

Pros: Such great value for money- stumbling distance of the leidseplein but with none of the noise at night somehow! incredibly friendly, helpful man on reception who really gave our stay that little extra something through his great attitude! the room itself was clean and welcoming, with a lovely view (we were on the very top floor) and the usual accessories- and really comfy beds!

given how cheap our triple room was per person, we weren't expecting anything quite so lovely. all three of us (quite fussy/hygiene conscious girls) loved it and will be staying there again!

Pros: The staff is nice, and the hotel near to the center.

Cons: The breakfast was not very vegan friendly which is a shame because we did write to them in advance about this.

Cons: Room nr. 1 & 2 are the cheapest, but in the basement without much light.

Pros: The room was so clean and tidy it did make us feel like we could easily relax after a day of walking around seeing the sights.

Pros: Superb location. friendly staff.
Cons: Lack of security. on more than one occasion there was nobody at reception and we were able to help ourselves to our key (and so could anyone else!)

Pros: Great location - 5 mins from leidsplein and 10 from rembrantplain - freindly staff and a good breakfast (6.50 euros)
Cons: Steep stairs are difficult for big lugguage.

Pros: The location was central. a good view from our room. the manager/owner was helpful when we eventually spoke to him. we were given a reduction by him.
Cons: Hotel was being renovated and was not finished. we had not been informed of this. there was no breakfast available because of this. the room facilities did not accord with description on website. some of the staff were surly and very defensive about the state of the hotel. the shower room flooded after having a shower. we were regularly wokenin the early hours by hotel guests returning, slamming doors and talking loudly. i think this is a hotel suitable for those wishing to use the all night bars etc..

Pros: Excellent location near leidse plein and rijksmuseum and van goghmuseum, friendly staff
Cons: Single rooms do not have a private shower/toilet, you need to share it with others, stairs are steep

Pros: Good location and close to a tarm station. ideal base for city sightseeing for young people.
Cons: Stayed with an elderly mother who found the stairs too steep.

Cons: - nice hotel on the outside, a bit sleazy on the inside: typical amsterdam.
- the soap dispenser in the shower was empty. after informing the reception, it was not solved within 24 hours.

Pros: Best hotel we stayed during our entire europe experience. the manager was so kind ad informative. highly recommended

Pros: The location was great for us, the staff were friendly and full of good information.
Cons: The room didn't feel clean, the curtains were filthy. the bathroom was shared and on the floor above me, which wasn't great. the bathroom was a shower in the toilet and wasn't very nice but it was a good shower! the stairs were very steep and the coffee was awful!! the outside looked very sad and the whole hotel looked like it desperately needed painting and some tender loving care spent on it.
