Grand Hotel Downtown Amsterdam    

Great hotel, brilliant value for money. Opened only 7 months a go & still looks immaculate. Rooms a little small but big enough for only 2, esp given that we only slept in them. Only down side is that the hotel was a bit further out than we expected but this was no big deal as you can jump on a tram at any time, and they come about every 10 mins so you never have to wait. Hotel in walking distance to Leidesplein - maybe 10 mins stroll. Would bother with hotel breakfast - cafe over the road served breakfast up to midday & it was half the price. Really couldn't fault the hotel, excellent service & value for money. Much nicer than staying in a run down hotel in the centre for twice the price! Highly recommended.

Me and my wife stayed here for 3 nights we found it a Very nice clean hotel, staff were helpful and friendly, could possibly benefit from having room service. service. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again

Booked 2 penthouse rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were just like the pictures on the website. Lovely big terrace, only downside was they could have put some seating out there. Location was quite, a little far out from Dam square but a short tram ride away, however it can easily be walked. We took the tram as its very easy to use and an experience! Would recommend this hotel

I stayed in what was suppose to be a large penthouse but turned out to be an average size room with no luxury features. The terrace had no furniture. Its actually called Hotel Downtown. Very misleading.

Junior penthouse was small but adequate, roof terrace was huge, shared with two others but didn't see them. Tram 1 from centraal station took 10 mins. Reasonably easy to find.Nice friendly reception staff, would stay here again.

The room was un clean I have to ask for cleaning , the rate are high comparing to the level of this hotel location was very hard to find ther is no sign boards at all which is very relly crasy for 4 star hotel , the only place with logo was sticker on the entrance only One of the lady's at the reception was very rood at all times she cares only to make sure that payment received only Again this is not 4 star hotel at all , it's new hotel That's it

We really enjoyed staying here, room was as described and we enjoyed walking everywhere in Amsterdam! Very nice room and very comfortable bed. The TV hidden behind a mirror was a lovely touch as were the warm bathroom tiles underfoot!

A nice and newly renovated hotel. Everything was new and fresh and up to date.We stayed in a big room with a seperate living room area and a huge bathroom. The room had a modern design and looked very chic.The hotel is in a nice and quiet area just a few minutes walk from all the action and also a few minutes walk from the number 1 tram line. There are also a few nice restaurants just across the street. The only minor complain we have is that the staff is a bit forgetful. We asked for a couple of things to be fixed and they promised to come and fix it in half an hour, but both times they never showed up. This is just a minor irritation, but I still have to point it out as the only flaw.This is our new "go to hotel" when in Amsterdam and we recommend you to try it out.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Very modern decor and comfortable and stylish rooms.Only a short walk or tram ride away from the main areas of the town.Would definetly recommend this hotel and we hope to use it again in the future.

Stayed here for a 3 night break,and would advise that unless you enjoy walking,for example to Dam Square or Red Light area,then this hotel is not for you.We found the reception staff very welcoming,and we were given penthouse room 612.After entering the room I we realised that we had been given a junior suite,& not a large penthouse that we had booked,although the junior suites do have the outdoor terrace also.I spoke to reception.and she showed me the printed confirmation,which just said "penthouse" & she advised me that the pictures of the room shown on websites are not always what you are allocated on checking in.Errr sorry I don't think so !! , when the rate was at least 40 euros a night difference.I challenged this,because the photos of the large penthouse and junior penthouse are the same on several websites which I researched before I booked,so why would I not be allocated what I thought I had booked.We were then given room 601,which upon entering was clearly the correct room type.Other than this hiccup,we had a nice stay,the rooms are lovely and quiet,& although these are more apartments than a hotel (with several residents on the lower floors) we could not fault the hotel.The only reason we were put off really with the long distance to walk is the weather was very cold,however spring,summer & autumn would be a pleasant stroll,& then there is always the option of catching a tram,as there is a stop very close by.This hotel is however in a great location for the museum district.There are loads of places to eat locally,& a very good place just next door for breakfast,rather than paying the hotel rate.Would I book here again..?Certainly !!! I enjoyed every minute of this holiday. I was over the moon with the hotel and will be a 100% returning. Loved the heated floor. Thank you for a enjoyable stay, will also recommended. One of the best hotels

1st night good. 2nd night bathroom flooded(along with a few other rooms) feces amongst the water. NOTHING done, staff said they would talk to us but never came. still charged full price. not impressed

I knew that the room was small it was but all we need aw there and operating. The staff was friendly and available and explained everything we asked. The only negative is the sound insulation but February is a quiet period. Exterior doors didn't close properly so were slammed loudly .

Nice rooms and fantastic service. The front desk staff were more than willing to recommend attractions and even googled for information about a tourist-bus they were unfamiliar with.Around 10min from the main attractions, decently accessible by tram. I wouldn't mind staying here again

I've been to Amsterdam numerous times, and this has been by far my best stay at a hotel.Incredibly good priced (I paid 200€ for a 3 night stay), the rooms are modern, well equipped, and comfortable. Location though not in the middle of Centrum, it's a 5 minute walk to Leidseplein, or a short bike ride (10 minutes or so) to Dam Square.

This hotel was excellent the room was fantastic great views Good value for money !Abit far out from central station we had to get taxis to and from dam square which cost €10! Another great stay in Amsterdam

Unfortunately, the room was smaller then it is shown on the Internet page of easybook.com. On the internet it is written that there is a possibility to have a breakfast but the kitchen was not open. The rooms are clean but very small.

We had a great experience at the Grand Hotel. The first night we had a room that was next to the front lobby and quite noisy during the day. We told the reception and they kindly swapped us to a larger, quieter room in the hotel which was absolutely perfect! The shower/bathroom felt luxurious along with complimentary bathrobes which was a really nice touch! The bed was very comfy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also, it is a nice location, close to the city centre but also in a cool more local neighbourhood in Amsterdam with tons of delicious cafes & restaurants nearby. We would definitely go back again!

We stayed for 3 nights at the grand hotel downtown and it was a nice vacation. The location is great, the room was spacious and comfortable. Cleaning is not excellent but it may be sufficient.The only problems we have had with the noise of air conditioning and beds. Luckily they were resolved in less than a day. Thanks Kata, is the most reliable of the people at the desk (open 24 hours).P.S. Do not ring the bell at the gate bigger, the entrance is just ahead.

The Grand Hotel Downtown is conveniently located on walking distance to all major attractions in Amsterdam. It is affordable, has nice, clean rooms and is quiet during the night. For people travelling by car, it is difficult to stop close to the Hotel for check-in
