"nice enough hotel but rooms small"

Nice clean hotel rooms are small but close to everything. If you are looking for luxury then it's not for you. But if you want a central location and just to get your head down then it's perfect. All in all good trip.

"Lovely stay for a short while"

I thought the hotel it's self has a lovely charm about it and the rooms are really nice. I stayed for just a weekend and the location was great to see many of the sights of Amsterdam. My only comment would be that maybe the staff could have been slightly more efficent in cleaning the rooms and also at the breakfast service.

"Excellent Base for Stag Do"

This was a quality hotel at a good price and location, twin rooms are a big small but you only sleep in them! Really good bar next door on the corner and a top sandwich shop for when you need refueling!

"Short break weekend"

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and plenty to choose from. Bedroom was small but overall comfortable. Ok for a short stay.Staff were friendly and helpful. Bathroom was compact but adequate.

"a good experience"

it is a good location and a quality/price. We like a lot the breakfast and the silence in the night.I dislike to have payed the internet wi-fi internet services because in hall the hotels I have been it was a free services

"Good hotel"

We We're a family group of seven ages ranging from twelve years to eighty nine years we had three rooms consisting of two twins and a triple, the rooms were small but not too small and very clean the breakfast was also very good to summarise a good value hotel, the location was ok near the central station and canal boat trips but it appeared to be quite a rough and dirty area with lots of drug parafanalia shops but I guess that's Amsterdam! Also the parking is a major issue it costs 40 euros for 24 hours..

"Nothing wrong!"

Nice staff, clean rooms. I was in a single room, which was really small but in the end it did not bother me at all since I got back to the hotel for a sleep and a shower, and the room served both well. Breakfast was good. Locationwise, it is really a 6-7 min walk from the central station (which takes about 15-20 mins to get from the airport by train that runs every 20 mins), so getting to the hotel from the airport did not take any longer than an hour including train schedules etc. Also, this hotel is not on one of the most busy streets, but yet it takes no more than a couple of minutes to get to the main streets where all tourists are. So I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again, next time I am in Amsterdam.

"Do not stay in hotel citadel. Not worth your money!!!! Too expensive, too noisy, too arrogant!!!"

Nobody should ever stay in this hotel. The rooms are either way too small or they have no outside windows. They try to charge money before even showing the room. No free wi-fi and 90 euro per night!!!

"A wonderful amsterdam experience"

Hotel Citadel was a great find for us. Our room was ready as soon as we arrived, and the service was very professional and kind. We would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to spend a few night in a great location in the heart of Amsterdam, very cloise to the Central Station.

"Excellent location"

Compact room but everything you need for a couple nights stay. Breakfast included which was nice basic but enough to tide you over till lunch. Location is good close to Central station. Would recommend.

"Fantastic Experience"

My partner and I had a great stay at Hotel Citadel. the hotel was clean and the staff efficient. the location is great (just 8 minutes walk from the main square of Amsterdam). We had a great trip and would love to come back ASAP!!!

Lovely room, spacious, nice bathroom very modern. Great location, only one road away from the main street, 10 minutes from centraal station and 10 minutes walk from the red light district. really quiet hotel as well which was great

The location of the hotel is perfect. The rooms are small, but clean. But the breakfast is terrible: not much choice, "sold out" after & hour, terrible service, unfriendly, they don' t care, not enough space for all the guests, ...

"Can't go wrong here"

Excellent location only a 5 minute walk from Dam Square and 10 minutes from Amsterdam Central.Clean Rooms, Good Service from the staff, half decent buffet breakfast.Room was a little small with not a lot of daylight but was never in there long enough to worry about it.Excellent value overall would definately stay again.

"Great Value, Great Service"

Was really grateful that Citadel was located where it was due to heavy bags (5-7 minutes walk from Central station on one side, museums and massive super market on the other) and service was great. Only two things - they should warn you about the small flight of steps on entering the building (with heavy bags, even 5 steps can seem like a hurdle) - but thankfully great lift at the bottom of them so not to be minded too much!Rooms were great - clean and well kept. Although shower could have done with an actual basin (don't like water going everywhere).Other than that, would definitely stay again if / when on budget. As a lone female traveller, felt safe in the area too.

"clean and friendly"

I found the Staff to be very helpful and showing me on the map where I needed to go.I was there with my teenage Grandson.The bed was very comfortable and the room very clean.we were on the top floor had two windows so had plenty of fresh air.I could hear some noise which I think was the trams going up and down at night,apart from that it was good value.I would recommend it and would stay there again.It's only 10 min walk from central station and has all the shops and places to eat near by.

Hotel Citadel gör sig verkligen förtjänt av sina 3 stjärnor. Om du anländer med kollektivtrafiken är bästa station Amsterdams centralstation. Madame Tussaud Wax Museum och Museum Our Lord in the Attic är muséer man inte bör missa i Amsterdam. Artis Zoo ligger mycket nära denna plats. En sevärdhet i området är Beurs van Berlage.
