 "Great Location, very friendly staff, nice roof bar"
We loved to stay in the hotel Pulitzer. The location is great, the rooms are nice and clean and the staffs were very friendly. We enjoyed sitting on the nice roof bar. We can only recommend this hotel and we will come back.

 "Great location and very friendly, helpful staff"
We stayed here for 3 nights. Location is excellent for walking around this part of the city and/or catching the Barcelona Bus Turistic (tourist bus) which I would also highly recommend. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and all spoke english well

 "Overall pleased"
Stayed four nights. Fantastic location and rooftop terrace; chic design on rooms. Rooms on the back are quiet but views of backs of buildings only. Perhaps not so on higher floors. Had asked for a higher floor but didn't get it. Furnishings need some maintenance. Our wood floor was very damaged with deep scratching. Nice lobby and bar area.

 "Very pleasant stay"
In the heart of Barcelona. Ideal for shopping, visits, ballads, etc.Hotel located 100 meters from the Catalyuna place which was crowded at the period of the time (Christmas time). People at the hotel were very friendly and smiling.

 "Excellent hotel!"
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Pullitzer for 2 nights on a weekend break, it has an extremely friendly relaxed, warm feel, lovely decor, very clean and is in the perfect location quiet but in a central Barcelona location.

 "Good location and rooms; staff not very friendly..."
This was my second time staying at the hotel. I remembered that five years ago the staff was more friendly; it seems now they don't care much about the guests. The location and the rooms remain good.

 "SHOCKS WHEN LEAVING HOTEL"
Had unpleasant surprise at having to pay extra taxes on rooms. Told at desk, on leaving, that these had been imposed by government. We had payed in full on booking rooms some months previouse, which I understood was an agreenent of purchase of rooms at stated price.Further monies had to be paid for small wine, nuts ets that were in burough, not in refrigerator. These products were thought to be complimentary as they looked as though they were placed as such with no prices etc.

 "Well sited"
Very easy to get to from the airport on the Aerobus. Also central and great for walking from to restaurants and sites. Helpful friendly staff. We did not eat in at all because we prefer to sample the nearby restaurants cafes and bars.

 "Wonderful Stay at The Pulitzer"
Our stay at the Pulitzer was extremely enjoyable, all the staff were charming and a great reflection on the hotel. We were met with smiling faces and one felt that the staff would do anything to make one feel comfortable and very welcome. The position of the hotel was excellent and the roof garden magical. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety of choice, coffee was particularly good. I have already and would certainly recommend The Pulitzer to anyone staying in Barcelona. I feel very fortunate that out of all the Hotels I searched and looked at on the internet I decided to book The Pulitzer. Thank you to all the members of staff for making our stay so exceptional and enjoyable. Anne

 "Nice Hotel, Great Location, Dishonest Dealings at the Front Desk"
This hotel, as other reviews said, is wonderfully situated on one end of Las Ramblas, the main walking strip through the Gothic area in Barcelona. The rooms are nice and well decorated but slightly worn yet still comfortable and clean.The problem with Hotel Pultizer Barcelona is not the facility but the way the front desk staff.When we arrived, I had prebooked on easy to book online and I handed them the booking. The man at the desk handed me 2 receipts for double the amount agreed on line and told me to sign. I explained that I had prepaid what was written on the booking confirmation and he insisted that was for one room and not the 2 that I needed to book.. After some time showing him the same online booking, he simply generated a 3rd receipt and told me this was a credit receipt for one of the first 2 and that after signing all three I would only pay an amount that was slightly more than I had originally booked. Which I thought was unacceptable.During our stay, we had cause to deal with the front desk 3 times and each time it seemed like another shake down was in the making. Our initial taxi driver who brought us into the hotel offer to give us a drive around the city for 40 euros an hour. We thought his English wasn't strong enough for us to understand so we asked the front desk if they might recommend someone else but didn't mention price. They offered the "best deal in the city" for a flat rate of $290 Euros and up to 2 hours. we politely declined.Lastly, we spoke with 2 different front desk attendants regarding what a taxi would cost to get to the airport (BCN) from there. We planned to leave just enough currency in euros from our vacation such that at the end we could pay for the trip to the airport and asked about the cost of the bus vs. the train vs. taxi. Both attendants went out of their way to emphasize the taxi was the way to go and explained anything more than 45 Euros would be robbery. Sounded like a good plan so the that morning we ask the desk to call the taxi. Within 5 minutes a van pulls up and its driver gets out and goes to the front desk. I assumed he wasnt our man beacuase he spoke to the attendant softly and in spanish for nearly 10 minutes before the attended called to our family and introduced him as our taxi driver. I assumed the desk confirmed what they thought on price but when we arrived at the airport 20 minutes later he asked for 60 Euros. I think the front desk got something out of that deal.
