"Mixed."

Room was large, but not been maintained well at all. Air conditioner smelled bad, air conditioner above dripped onto ours all night. Four flights of stairs to walk up and no help offered with our bags. Had to pay $10 dollars to stow luggage after check out. No phone in room to call desk with. No hot water in morning - although after much complaining was given a $50 dollar refund. Overall for $175 a night I expect much better service and quality.

"Not very good"

No air conditionaire in the room as it was so hot outside it was impossible to sleep in the room....guy at the reception was really extremely not nice..Room clean, bed comfortable , and the location perfect.

See you soon.The Staff was excellent.We liked the room very much.Only little bit inconvient was the restroom in the hall.The cleaning of the room was very good.

"A good location, i was able to walk to most of the attractions"

Pros: A good location, i was able to walk to most of the attractions. there were pubs and restaurants close by with good food.my room was clean and comfortable. would stay here again.
Cons: Only thing if i had to choose a small kitchen area or my own bathoom i would choose my own bathroom. new york is an exciting city with hundreds of food options. why would you want to sit in your room?

Pros: The room was bigger than we were expecting from the photos, and included a little kitchen, couch and bed. the room was clean and the bed comfortable. we were on the street front, so we found the black out blind very useful. the staff were welcoming and very helpful and the location is superb - you just step out the door and you're in one of the coolest parts of manhattan!
Cons: The bathroom is the one area that i feel should be improved. the facilities themselves are fine, but it didn't smell particularly clean and there was no soap and towel provided if you're just visiting the toilet. we used one of the towels as a bathmat instead of sharing the one in there which looked rather dirty. we never had to wait to use the bathroom, and we didn't mind the shared nature of the bathroom, it just didn't seem up to the same cleanliness standards as the rest of the hotel.

"Good location - *very* close to the nearest subway stop"

Pros: Good location - *very* close to the nearest subway stop. good restaurants and nightclubs located within one or two blocks. rooms are small and bathrooms are shared, however i had no issues with access or cleanliness.
Cons: There is no elevator, so if you are staying on the 5th floor (as i was) be prepared for some stair climbing

"A very friendly greeting on arrival"

Pros: A very friendly greeting on arrival. the location was great. next to public transport and around the corner from chelsea market. we walked from the hotel many days, about 40mins to times square and an easy walk to the west village. shared bathroom was fine.

"The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff are friendly and..."

Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. despite its small size, they managed to fit in a tiny kitchen with microwave, kettle and even some crockery available, which could have been useful had we made use of it.
Cons: The size of the room remains the main criticism. we did go for the cheapest option but i don't think this was fairly reflected in the price.
