The Irish County of Kerry is home to the ruins of the 14th century Ross Castle. In Kerry make sure to pay a visit to the preserved Franciscan Friary at Muckross or Muckross House dating from 1843. Kerry has many attractive sights and attractions from the Gap of Dunloe to the Ogham stones at Beaufort. You can climb the track over the Gap that separates the Purple Mountains and visit the serpent lake. Tomies Wood is an enjoyable walk for many; others prefer to wander the streets of Killarney. Take some time to go see the Kerry Poet’s Monument or visit the National Museum of Irish Transport. Some also go abroad to Killarney for example, to take part in that city’s favorite festival – The Rose of Tralee International Festival.
