The Jura Mountains is Switzerland’s youngest Canton. Wander from the French frontier from Geneva to the Doubs River. Visit Lac des Brenets and Doubs falls before they visit Lac Neuchâl and Lac de Bienne. There are towns to visit and trails to hike. In the Jura plateau you can bike, hike and horseback ride in summer.
You may want to spend a weekend. The Jura Mountains includes the National Horse Fair and Hot Balloon Festival at Saignelégier and the Blumstein Historical Museum at Solothurn. You can also visit the Italian-style St. Ursen Cathedral at Saignelégier. Wander its narrow cobbles streets stretching along both sides of the Aare River.
