Palmers Lodge Hillspring London  

Pros: Maybe because it's a little way out from the centre of london, my room-mates didn't come in super-late so with good ear-plugs and eye mask i got a very good night's sleep. there are lights over each bed so if you're the first to bed, like me, you can leave a small light on so they don't switch the main one on and wake you up. the hostel has a great vibe, with the bar and cafe serving food till 10pm and an outside verandah area. breakfast was very nice, with warm croissants and a choice of cereal as well as toast. the shower was excellent and there was never a queue.
Cons: The 4-person bedrooms and kitchen are small, only really space for 1 or 2 people to be getting their stuff ready at the same time. the hostel can be noisy, but i had good ear plugs so i was ok. the mixed-sex toilets and shower room gave me a shock everytime i saw a guy in there, but they were kept very clean so it was ok.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. clean rooms and facilities.
Cons: Noisy school group from germany talking and laughing loudly between 1.30 and 11.15 in the corridor even after being asked to talk in their rooms or be more quiet/considerate.
