Running for over 150 years, Henley Regatta is a firmly established event in the London calendar. Growing from humble beginnings as a small, local occasion with a fair and amusements, Henley Regatta is now a world famous competitive rowing event held on the Thames. In the mid 19th century Prince Albert became a Royal Patron of Henley Regatta, giving the new name of Henley Royal Regatta.
This popular event is televised and sees a great number of visitors flocking to witness the competition, including members of the royal family.
