Pros: It was reasonably quiet and on the bus route to the city.
Cons: 1. instead of the price being 95 gbp for 2 nights, i was told (when we unloaded all our things from our airport taxi) that there was a mistake and it really was 95 gbp for one night and 70 gbp for the 2nd night. after having flown early in the day from dublin and hauling all our suitcases to the hotel, this was not a good way to begin the stay! for that money and considering the distance from the city, i did not want to stay there, but we would have wasted another hour or two finding another hotel and getting another taxi to get there, so we coughed up the additional 70 gbp.
2. as we checked out, they wanted us to pay for their bathroom doorknob, which had been malfunctioning since we moved in. they asked us repeatedly if we had had an "incident" which would have caused the doorknob to become loose. we had had no incidents. it wasn't working very well when we moved in. the whole experience in checking out was very uncomfortable. so, moving into a hotel almost double the promised price was very uncomfortable, as was checking out. i could not recommend this hotel to anyone, unless they never care to close their bathroom doors and don't care how much they spend for a 2-star hotel 1.5 miles away from edinburgh.
